Thai cuisine is one of my hubby's favorites and the recent Thai restaurant we went to surprised us. I seldom visit Sunway Pyramid shopping mall (Honestly, I find the parking kinda confusing, and ever since they closed the entrance that I usually enter, I was even more reluctant to go >.<) but I've seen this Busaba Thai restaurant a couple of times while passing by - The 2 wooden horse decos at the entrance really do stick out like a sore thumb! :P Since we were at the mall last weekend and were sick of eating the usual same restaurants/food found in most malls, we decided to give it a try and were truly glad we did.

Busaba Thai Restaurant is located beside the Pinnacle Sunway, which houses EGG (Eight Gourmet Gala), on the right side of Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa main entrance. You will definitely not miss the two spectacular iconic wooden horses standing at the entrance, and when we pushed the door open, we were immediately smitten by the lavish and swanky interior decor - wooden cushioned chair, huge paintings, exposed bricks, wooden ornaments, chandelier etc., all creating a classy yet whimsical, rustic yet elegant atmosphere.

Busaba Thai Restaurant can be easily spotted from the main road. Look out for the two spectacular iconic wooden horses standing at the entrance.
Get ready to be astonished by the modern grandeur design once you push the door in.

Service was good. The staffs were very polite and our needs were quickly attended. Our orders on that day:
Khao Ob Sapparod - Authentic pineapple fried rice with prawns, topped with chicken floss (RM28.90).
Most of their dishes were spicy, so we ordered a pineapple fried rice so our LO could eat. This was pretty good - fluffy, light and tasty. LO liked it too. Btw, I loveee this portrait of a Chinese girl on their menu and also the huge painting hanging on the wall :D
Sa Tor Phad Goong - Stir-fried cluster beans (Petai) with chili paste, prawns and minced chicken (RM39.00).
I'm a huge fan of petai (We normally call it stinky bean)! This is the first time I see it being called 'cluster' bean, but when I googled 'cluster beans', the images show a complete different bean, so.... *shrugs* This dish was a lil salty to me.
Tom Yam Talay - Signature Tom Yam seafood flavored with lime, lemongrass and chilies (RM28.90).
A Thai meal is not complete without the sourish, hot & spicy tom yum soup. Busaba Thai Restaurant serves tom yum in individual portion. I think it was a lil pricey for this small portion, but they were generous with the amount of seafood: mussels, prawns, squid and fish. Each spoonful was packed with a wallop of flavor and the seafood were fresh.

All in all, our dining experience there was pleasant. Service was excellent, food was tasty, not to mention the awesome interior and ambience. Though a lil pricey, Busaba Thai is definitely worth a visit. They have found a return customer in me.
